Enrollment
Faith Christian School is a co-educational, independent day school offering an education in the Christian classical tradition. Class size is small, ordinarily no larger than twenty students. Our new Grammar School opened its doors in August 2004 with an enrollment of 79 students in Grades K-5. Current school enrollment is 286, and long range plans anticipate an enrollment of up to 520 students in K-12.
Governance
An independent board of trustees governs the broad policy of Faith Christian School. The head of school is responsible for the day-to-day operations, including admissions, hiring and evaluation of staff, curriculum, and financial administration.
Affiliation/Accreditation
Faith Christian School is a member of ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International), ACCS (Association of Christian Classical Schools),  and in association with CSI (Christian Schools International), and SCL (Society for Classical Learning). FCS is in candidacy status for accreditation with SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools).
Diversity
Faith Christian School admits students of any race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities, generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic or other school administered programs. Faith Christian School does not discriminate on the basis of any race, color, nationality or ethnic origin when hiring employees.
Financial Support
Tuition alone does not meet the needs of the operating budget. Faith Christian School's Annual Fund depends upon the support of our families and friends in order to offer our rich faith-based academic program. The Annual Fund goal for 2007-2008 is $195,000.

Financial Assistance
Faith Christian School is dedicated to making a Christian education affordable. Thus, Faith Christian School seeks to provide a tithe for financial assistance.  Awards are based on need and families apply to FFNA, an independent organization. Families requesting information should contact the school office.
Spiritual Life
Faith Christian School seeks to nurture the students yearning to know and love God. An emphasis on missions teaches our students to be Christ's face in the world. Staff and Christian leaders model their faith daily during Chapel time and regular assemblies. Upper school students lead Chapel once a week.
Denominational Ties
Faith Christian School is not affiliated with any one denomination or church. The school is independent and governed by an independent board. Students and their families attend many different churches throughout the Roanoke Valley.
Parent Covenant
It is vital to the success of a Faith Christian School education that parents spiritually support their child. Faith Christian School requires at least one parent to sign a faith statement, the  Parent's Covenant form.
Extracurricular Activities
For the 2008-2009 school year, girls are encouraged to participate competitively in Volleyball and both boys and girls can participate in Cross Country during the fall; Basketball is offered in the winter and Soccer and Tennis in the spring. Club offerings include Math Counts, Latin, Spanish, Hi Y, Ministerium Service Club, Student Government Association (SGA) and Veritas Honor Society. Faith Christian School offers Band, Drama and Art as part of the standard curriculum.
Dress Code
Students may select clothes from several vendors in order to meet the dress code requirements. Girls may select from khaki or navy skirts or pants and button down shirts, polo shirts and turtleneck shirts in expanded color choices for 2008-2009. Boys are similar.
Schedule
Kindergarten classes are held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The kindergarten enrichment program is held from 12:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. School begins at 8:00 a.m. and dismisses at 2:45 p.m. for Grades 1 - 5 and at 2:55 p.m. for Grades 6 - 12.
