Welcome from the Director of Enrollment, Cathi Weber
Thank you for inquiring about Faith Christian School. God has entrusted parents with the task of educating their children, and therefore choosing a school is a very important decision for parents to make. At FCS, we take very seriously the partnership that we make with parents in the education of their children. Throughout the admissions process the possibility of this partnership is explored on many levels.
Choosing a school requires a process of asking questions, becoming informed about the school mission and philosophy, visiting the campus, and meeting members of the school community. We believe our school offers an excellent education based on the foundation of God’s Word and taught in the time honored Classical tradition.
Unique aspects of a Faith Christian School education include:
Small class size
Highly qualified, committed Christian teachers
Required Latin instruction
Formal Logic and Rhetoric classes
Required Senior Honor Thesis
Visual and Performing Arts
100% college acceptance rate
Interscholastic athletic program
SAT scores average 200-300 points above the national norm
The Admissions Office works closely with parents and students throughout the admissions process. We are available to assist you from beginning the application through interview. I invite you to schedule a visit to our school, which will allow you to become better acquainted with us in a more personal way. During your visit you will be given a tour of the school, have the opportunity to visit and observe in classrooms, and meet faculty and students. Once on campus you can get a feel and taste of what our school is all about: its mission, core values, strong academics, visual and performing arts, competitive athletics, and extra-curricular activities.
Please feel free to call the Admissions Office at 540.769.5200 ext. 148 or email Cathi Weber
A Letter from our Head of School, Sam Cox
Dear Interested Parent,
Thank you for your interest in Faith Christian School, the Roanoke Valley’s only Christian classical school. We are providing information to help you better understand our school.
There are many exciting things happening at Faith Christian School. Since our inception in 1997 with forty-seven students, we have enjoyed steady growth, and God continues to richly bless our school. As a result of our growth, we moved into our own facility in August of 2007. Our building rests on twenty-five acres of land, adjacent the Blue Ridge Parkway, on Buck Mountain Road in Roanoke County.
Each year 100% of our graduates are accepted into four-year colleges and universities. Our students’ median rank on standardized test scores is consistently well above the national averages, and our average SAT scores consistently rank at the top of all schools in the Roanoke Valley, and 200-300 points above the national average. As a Christian school, we are dedicated to teaching every discipline from a Christian worldview. Each subject and skill is taught as part of an integrated whole with historic Christianity and the teaching of scripture at the center. Moreover, we seek with God’s help, to raise up future generations of godly leaders that can engage our culture for Christ.
I think you will find that Faith Christian School is a special place. Please call us with any questions or to schedule a visit. We are conducting Open Houses throughout the year and would encourage you to join us. Please stop by our website at www.faithchristian-school.com.
In Christ,
Samuel P. Cox Head of School
