Opportunities for Homeschoolers
Faith Christian School is pleased to offer part-time opportunities for home-schooled students grades 6-12. We invite you to contact the school to explore possible classes. Completion of the application process must occur before enrollment. Tuition for the 2010-2011 school year is $1100 per class with fees determined by the number of classes chosen.
By enrolling in two classes, students are eligible to participate in our team sports. We offer soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross-country and tennis. There is a limit to the number of part-time students allowed on a team so contact us early.
Admissions Procedure Checklist for Homeschool Students
- Complete and submit the application form with the Application fee of $50.00 per student
- Rising Grades 6-11: Student must complete the Student Questionnaire and Essay and submit it to FCS.
- Complete the Homeschool Report form
- If the student has attended a public or private school, complete the Records Release form and submit it to the school.
- Teacher Recommendation forms: To be completed by the home teacher
- Rising Grades K-1: K-1 Recommendation form - 1 required
- Rising Grades 2-6: 2-5 Recommendation form - 1 required
- Rising Grades 7-11: Math Teacher Recommendation form - 1 required
- English Teacher Recommendation form - 1 required
- All students must have one Teacher/Coach Recommendation form completed by an adult that is in a teaching position with the student, e.g. music teacher, Sunday School teacher, athletic coach, etc.
- Standardized Test Scores: Copy of two most recent required
- o (State SOL and PAL tests are not accepted)
- o If test scores are not available or current, further testing will be required.*
- Rising Grades 1-11: Schedule a visitation day at Faith Christian, at least ½ day, preferably a full day.
When the above is completed the school will contact you regarding the following items:
Assessment Requirements: o Rising Grades K-5: Screening (Administered at school) o Rising Grades 8-9: Algebra readiness exam (Administered at school) o Rising Grades 9-11: Writing skills (Administered at school)
Interview: After review of the complete application and all components, an interview will be scheduled with division directors. Students entering grades 6-12 will attend the interview with their parents. All applications are reviewed by the Admission’s Committee before admission is granted. If granted admission, application for tuition assistance may begin.
