Carsonette Hamilton is a graduate of James Madison University with a BA in Early Childhood Education ('71). She has continuing education classes from JMU and UVA in Parenting/A Psychology, Child Psychology, School and Community Relations, Working With Parents of Young Children and Establishing a Learning Environment in a Pre-school/Kindergarten classroom.
Carsonette has taught in Virginia's public schools grades K-2 for 10 years.
During the late 90's the Hamitons lived in the Greensboro, NC area where she taught a Pre-K class at Morris Chapel Methodist church. She joined the Good Shepherd Lutheran teaching staff as a Pre-K teacher from 1999 until 2004, at which time she began her teaching career as a Kindergarten teacher here at Faith Christian School. Carsonette and her husband Billy reside in Roanoke and have two children Chelsey, who is attending Virginia Tech and Pete, who is currently a member of the basketball team at Randolph College.
